Vision & Mission
The Punjabi Cultural Council (PCC) envisions a future where the Punjabi language, culture and heritage thrive with dignity, confidence and continuity across India and around the world. The Council seeks to build a society that values its linguistic diversity, protects the cultural identity of its people and recognises the Punjabi language as an essential part of India’s collective heritage. It aspires to ensure that every Punjabi speaker, whether in a village, a city or the diaspora, feels connected to the language that carries their rich history, memory and sense of belonging.
Mission
The mission of the Punjabi Cultural Council is to safeguard and promote the Punjabi language and the rich cultural traditions of Punjab through sustained, meaningful and community-driven efforts. The Council aims to revive and strengthen the mother tongue Punjabi across regions by supporting education, cultural exchange, research and public outreach.
It works to secure wider recognition for Punjabi, including its status as a second language in states with significant Punjabi speaking populations, through dialogue, advocacy and institutional engagement.
The Council is committed to organising cultural programmes, awareness campaigns, heritage preservation projects and youth-focused initiatives that nurture pride in Punjabi identity. It also stands for the protection of minority linguistic rights and the preservation of India’s multilingual character.
Through these efforts, the PCC strives to build a vibrant cultural movement that inspires future generations to learn, cherish and carry forward the legacy of Punjabi language and Punjabiat on national and global platforms.
